Friday 10th March  2023 – 8.00pm

Performance

The choir return to the ‘Geordie Club’ – otherwise known as Calverton Working Mens Club, Collyer Rd, Calverton, Nottingham NG14 6JX (£5 entry open to non-members) to recreate the magic of our last performance, this time along with the lovely Lyrical SoNGbirds ladies choir from Wollaton who happen to share our Musical Director!

This is sure to be another FUN, informal and crowd pleasing entertainment event with our typical performance antics on show and a great set list of well known music from both choirs! Not to mention the great bar prices!

It is fabulous to invited back to perform at the wonderful Beeston Methodist Church for a ‘Spring Concert’ . The church is on Chilwell Road, Beeston, Nottingham NG9 1EH.Tickets are available NOW from the church here. Profits are in aid of three brilliant charities – the Leprosy Mission, Macular Society (loss of central vision) and Hope Nottingham.

Festival Concert 2023

Join us at our jewel in the crown Festival Concert 2023, held at Nottingham’s fabulous Albert Hall, Nottingham NG1 5AA. Our guests this year will be the brilliant mixed barbershop a cappella group Pitch and Mix with their MD Mr Stephen Cox and we will also feature our accompanist team.

Please note that there will be no Music Maker Competition this year but look out for it returning in 2024.

Choir Tour – Northampton/Bournemouth

The choir undertake the first of two tours in 2023 on which we head off to perform with two brilliant and progressive choirs. We join Northampton Male Voice Choir in Northampton’s Christchurch on the Friday evening in aid of the Northampton Sands Stillbirth and Neo Natal Death Charity. We then get back on the road and head down to Bournemouth where we perform with Bournemouth Male Voice Choir at St Ambrose Church in Westbourne on the Saturday evening at 7:30pm.

Performance with Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir

A guest 20min set performed at concert at the wonderful Southwell Minster Church St, Southwell NG25 0HD, with the Our Dementia Choir started by Vicky McClure on BBCTV and now a charity raising awareness of Dementia, the choir will also sing jointly with them and their MC John Bishop.

We really look forward to this fabulous opportunity for a wonderful cause.

The choir have been invited to perform two sets at Nottingham’s largest car show ‘Nottingham Motor Show‘ with its massive footfall and display of cars old and new, to be held at Wollaton Hall and Park, Nottingham, NG8 2AE hosted by the Pre-war Austin 7 Club

Armed Forces Proms in the Park concert in Bridgford Park, West Bridgford. one of the biggest events in Nottingham takes place in West Bridgford at Rushcliffe Borough Council’s free annual Proms in the Park outdoor concert. The event is to celebrate Armed Forces Day (a nationwide celebration to honour the work of the British Armed Forces) and will run from midday until 9pm, however Carlton MVC will perform at 4:30pm for 45 minutes, so do show your support and come and join us. Stay on to boogie to ABBA! This year also marks the one-hundredth year of Bridgford Park. Refreshments will be available throughout the day including hot and cold drinks, a licensed bar, ice cream, popcorn, slushies and a BBQ.

The organisers say “our event will shine a light on all the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community and alongside our Armed Forces Community Covenant, we are proud to be showcasing this event with the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal as this year’s official charity”.

Join Concert

 

Two Choirs Together In Concert – Carlton Male Voice Choir are pleased to forge a brand new joint venture with the brilliant Nottingham based community gospel choir Sing It Bold! The charity performance will be held at the New Testament Church Of God, 173-175 Carlton Rd, St Anns, Nottingham NG3 2FX and will feature this wonderful mix of uplifting and moving choir styles. The choirs will also perform two brand-new arrangements jointly. This is an event not to be missed!

The event will be free with donations towards the charities Emmanuel House (Housing Support Centre in Nottingham) and Prostate Cancer UK Tickets, although free will need to be reserved on Eventbrite (BELOW) in order to access the performance.

If you have never been in the presence of a performing Gospel choir then you must come along and experience the nature of this genre of singing, it is so uplifting!

Performance

The choir have been invited to perform at Clipstone’s Headstocks Food and Drink Festival to be held on a stage underneath the iconic Clipstone pit headstock workings. Get your tickets to this usually sold out event where you can also experience a trip around the site as well as hear the choir performing. More details here.

Friday 14th July 2023 – 12:30pm

Outdoor Performance

We are delighted to have been invited to perform at the Patchings Art Fest this year as they celebrate their 30th year in bringing together well known artists, artisans and art materials from across the country and further a field. The festival runs from Thurs 13th – Sat 15th and the choir will perform at 12:30pm on the bandstand opposite the food and refreshments area so  grab your lunch and come and have a listen.

If you are in the central Nottingham area on the morning of the 22nd July look out for a sudden unannounced appearance of the choir – phone cameras at the ready for our first go at a real flashmob!

Outdoor Performance

Carlton Male Voice Choir will appear and perform at the gorgeous outdoor space and nature reserve of Gedling Country Park. It will be brilliant to return to the area with its mining heritage that kindly allowed the choir to rehearse outdoors during Covid times. Come and take a listen in the airy setting making use of the great on site cafe and visitor centre. Gedling Country Park can be found at Spring Lane, Mapperley, Nottingham NG4 4PE. Bring along your dog too!

Performance

The choir have been invited to perform two sets at the times above at Nottingham’s famous and brilliant Riverside Festival in the ‘Big Top Stage’. Be sure to please support us at this massive event with its footfall of some 250,000 people. The festival is held at the Victoria Embankment, Nottingham, NG2 2JY. The festival is totally free admission.

Outdoor Performance

The choir have been invited to perform outside the Pavilion Micro Pub in Mansfield.

This brilliant little dog-friendly micro-pub was converted from a derelict racecourse pavilion near Racecourse Park into a brilliant live music venue with a great selection of guest beers. The choir will perform a set of well known and entertaining music for the public with plenty or singalong items so come along with your four-legged friend and enjoy something a little different from our choir!

Performance – Beer Festival

It is absolutely brilliant to be invited once more to perform at this year’s Nottingham Beer Festival (Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival) to be held at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham. Last year we enjoyed a stunning reception, found two new choir members and this year we hope to help sponsor the event with Carlton MVC on staff T-Shirts! Come and join us in the afternoon at the main stage behind the TBI pub to hear great drinking music whilst tasting beers from around the country – what could be better?!? Choir Tour – Merthyr Tydfil/Swansea

The choir head off on our second tour of the year and are honoured to perform with two wonderful Welsh choirs; the brilliant Dowlais Male Choir at 7:30pm in St Mary’s Church, Merthyr Tydfil on the Friday evening and the fabulous Dunvant Male Voice Choir at 7:00pm All Saints Church in the Mumbles, near Swansea on the Saturday evening. We sing at St Mary’s City Church at 11:00am for their Sunday Service and then later that day we perform at 2:00pm with our friends Taff’s Well Community Singers at St Fagon’s Village, Cardiff!

Joint Concert

We are so pleased to announce that we will perform a joint concert with our friends at Radcliffe-On-Trent Male Voice Choir with their Musical Director Deborah Davies at Bingham Methodist Church, Needham Street, Bingham NG13 8AE.

The choirs have not performed together for many years and amazingly our Musical Directors’ father was a founder members of this wonderful and fabulous choir, so this is an event not to be missed. Joint Concert

We are thrilled to be singing once more in 2023 with the brilliant Northampton Male Voice Choir who will return to visit Nottingham and sing with us again. This amazing concert is one not to be missed and will be held at the beautiful St Paul’s Church, Mansfield Rd, Daybrook, Nottingham NG5 6BHWe are pleased and honoured to announce that the Lord Mayor of Nottingham City: Councillor Carole McCulloch, the Mayor Of Gedling: Julie Najuk and past Mayors of Gedling Peter and Sandra Barnes will be our VIP guest at this event! This event will be in aid of Maggie’s Cancer Care.

Christmas Fair Performance

Carlton are so pleased to have been invited by the Nottingham City Council and ‘It’s In Nottingham’ to perform at the Nottingham Castle Christmas Fair for a 40 min set on the famous castle bandstand. Hear the choir performing some of it’s Christmas music and other songs to kick your Christmas off in the city! It’s also just down the road from Englands oldest pub The Trip To Jerusalem where you may well find a few of the choir enjoying a well earned pint after the show!

Also do check out Northampton Male Voice Choir who will perform at 2:00pm on THE PREVIOUS DAY (Saturday 25th Nov) at the same location and Nottingham’s fine Limelight Orchestra who will perform over the two days.

Joint Concert

Carlton Male Voice Choir are thrilled to finally perform with the brilliant Derby based choir: Roll Royce Ladies with their conductor Christine Hunt and Accompanist John Lord. The concert will take place at the gorgeous St Michael with St Mary Parish Church on Church Square, Melbourne, Derby DE73 8JH.

This concert will be in aid of the charity: me&dee has a simple mission, to ensure families going through difficult and uncertain times are gifted with memories they can treasure, never losing sight of what truly matters. Because it’s those special moments shared with the ones we love, no matter how complicated circumstances may be, that are most precious of all.

There will be a raffle for charity at just £1 per strip!

Visiting Choir Joint Concert

Carlton Male Voice Choir welcomes our honoured guests Kidderminster Male Voice Choir with the Musical Director David Barclay to Nottingham for a joint concert at the wonderful St Paul’s Church, Mansfield Rd, Daybrook, Nottingham NG5 6BH. Our two choirs will be joined by celebrated guest organist David Butterworth MA MusB FRCO(CHM) FRSA on the A. Gern pipe organ of this beautiful venue.

Nottingham ‘Men Allowed’ Concert

A group of men ‘NOTTINGHAM MEN ALLOWED‘ will perform for the very first time live at a concert to be held at the massive Marcus Garvey Centre, 221 Lenton Blvd, Lenton, Nottingham NG7 2BY.

The concert is sponsored by Carlton Male Voice Choir who will also perform at the concert along with other special guests to be announced including Vicky McClure’s OUR DEMENTIA CHOIR of BBC One fame and is in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. Massed Choir Performance

East Midlands Male Voice Choirs – Sing For Ukraine

A massed choir concert in aid of the Ukraine Humanitarian Disaster Fund. Featuring Carlton, Bestwood, Mansfield, Radcliffe on Trent, Eastwood Collieries, South Notts Men and Sandiacre Male Voice Choirs conducted by various MDs and accompanied by various accompanists on piano and organ. A special appearance by Katharine Dryden will top off what is sure to be a one off evening for an important cause.

The Choir perform outdoors at 12:30pm against the beautiful setting of the lake as part of this Green Flag Award winning celebrations for the Queens’ Jubilee. We are honoured and excited to present a joint concert with the world famous Treorchy Male Choir from South Wales! From their number of commercial recordings to TV appearances featuring not just themselves but the likes of Tom Jones, to Royal Command Performances and heading up major sports events this choir have made a massive name for themselves in their 130 year history and are a well known as a brilliant world wide touring male choir.

We will present them with their Musical Director Stewart Roberts, Assistant Musical Director and Accompanist Ryan Wood in 2022 as a joint concert with Carlton Male Voice Choir in the wonderful setting St Paul’s church, 5 Church St, Carlton, Nottingham. Church Service

A Civic Service for the new Mayor of Gedling (Peter Barnes) at St Paul’s Church, Mansfield Rd, Daybrook, Nottingham NG5 6JD. Hear the choir lead the service conducted by Assistant Musical Director Andrew Atkinson, with accompaniment from guest Accompanist Margaret Ball (Mansfield MVC) and resident organist Steve Cox.

Charity Concert with Guest

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carlton – 99, Carlton Hill, Carlton, Nottingham. NG4 1FP. A concert put on by the choir in aid of Brain Tumour Research; a UK-based medical research charity dedicated to funding research, raising awareness of brain tumours. The charities vision is to find a cure for brain tumours of all kinds. More information on the charity here.

Performance – Beer Festival

It is absolutely brilliant to be invited to perform at this year’s Nottingham Beer Festival (Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival) to be held at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham. Come and join us on the afternoon to hear great drinking music whilst tasting beers from around the country – what could be better?!? Usual Beer Festival entry fees apply.

Performance – Oxjam

The choir will perform as part of 12 hours of live music across 15 venues with nearly 100 artists at the Oxjam Music Festival at St John’s Church, 10, Chilwell Road, Beeston, NG9 1EJ.  The choir are pleased to take this opportunity to undertake a joint performance with the excellent ladies choir Lyrical SoNGbirds. Christmas Concert

 

It is fabulous to invited back to perform at the wonderful Beeston Methodist Church on Chilwell Road, Beeston, Nottingham NG9 1EH. Here we traditionally perform a ’50/50 concert’ – half normal repertoire and half Christmas Music to welcome in the season. Tickets are available NOW from the church here. Our Dementia Choir Christmas Concert

A guest set performed at concert with the Our Dementia Choir started by Vicky McClure on BBCTV and now a charity raising awareness of Dementia, the choir will also sing jointly with them and their MD the famous Mark De-Lisser

We really look forward to this fabulous opportunity for a wonderful cause.

The event includes a 4 course meal and performances from various guests and of course the Our Dementia Choir whom we are pleased to announce will sing jointly with Carlton MVC!
